Office Spo-lympic Games
Get ready to bring your A-game because the Office Spo-lympic Games are coming to town! Join us downtown for fun, friendly competition, and team-building activities that will put your office skills to the test. From chair races to paper toss challenges and everything in between, this event is designed to boost morale and foster camaraderie. Whether you’re competing for the gold or just cheering on your coworkers, there’s something for everyone. Mark your calendars and prepare for an unforgettable two weeks of laughs, prizes, and office glory!
Use the suggested games below or get creative and come up with your own ideas for fun and engaging office Olympic activities. The goal is to foster team spirit and bring some excitement to the workday. You can invent new challenges that cater to your office's unique environment and talents. Get everyone involved and enjoy a day of laughter, camaraderie, and healthy competition.
Sticky Bullseye
Setup: Create targets using sticky notes on a whiteboard or wall with a bullseye in an open space.
How to Play: Each participant will have a set time of a recommended 30 seconds to shoot as many rubber bands as possible. The winner will have the most bullseyes in the allotted time.
Opening Ceremony Costume Contest
Setup: Not required.
How to Play: Participants will dress up in their most patriotic Spo-lympic themed outfit to represent their desired country. Create a set of judges or voting system. Most votes win.
Chair-iot of Fire
Setup: Clear a straight path in the office, decorate chairs with flags or team colors.
How to Play: Teams of two or more push one member in the decorated chair down the path and back. Fastest time wins.
Speed Finger Skating
Setup: Use https://www.typingtest.com/.
How to Play: This is an individual event that requires 2 participants from each team. Each participant will compete in a 60-second typing test, which will be projected for the audience to see. The participant with the highest typing score at the end of the test wins.
Spo-lympic Games Prizes
Share your games on Instagram with the hashtag #OfficeSpoOlympicGames and be entered into a raffle for a chance to win various small prizes like desk gadgets, stationery kits, or downtown-branded items.
*Entry period 4:30pm Friday July 11 through 5:00pm Friday August 9. Account must be public to enter. Prizes will be announced at the Summer Game Celebration Closing Ceremony Party on Sunday August 11, 2024.
Coffee Cup Relay
Setup: Create a relay course within the office space.
How to Play: Participants carry a coffee cup filled with water through the course, passing it to teammates without spilling. Fastest time wins.
Marker Mania
Setup: Use a whiteboard and markers.
How to Play: Teams will race to write as many Spo-lympic-related words (ex. Medal, rings, torch, anthem, etc.) as possible within a time limit of 1 minute.
Wastebasket Basketball
Setup: Place a wastebasket at different distances, mark them as different "countries," and provide paper balls.
How to Play: Participants represent different countries and take turns shooting paper balls into the basket. Each successful shot earns points for their country.
Creative Content Prizes
Best Photo: A $25 gift card and a feature on our social media pages.
Best Video: A $25 gift card and a spotlight story on our social media.
Most Engaging Post: A $25 gift card and a shout-out in our next newsletter.
Funniest Post: A $25 gift card and a humorous office item like a stress ball or desk toy.
Most Creative Post: A $25 gift card and an arts and lawn game kit.
